Crisis
For Life-Threatening Emergencies:
If you or someone you know is an imminent danger to themselves or someone else, go to the nearest ER or call 911. For a general non-emergency where police assistance might still be needed, call 614-292-2121 or only dial the last five digits if calling from an on-campus phone (e.g. 2-2121). Often crises occur for students when our center is closed. You can call NetCare Access (276-2273) or go to the OSU Hospital Emergency Department (293-8333).
For enrolled OSU students experiencing a psychological crisis:
During most business hours, OSU students may call 614-292-5766 to speak with a trained counselor-on-call about their situation. If the counselor-on-call is already occupied, you may leave a message and ask that she or he call you back. Students may also come to CCS anytime Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm to meet face-to-face with a counselor (be sure to tell our reception staff that you need to talk with someone immediately). To minimize your wait time, it is best to call us first.
Other Community Resources:
Call the Netcare Access Crisis Hotline at 614-276-CARE (2273). Netcare provides twenty-four hour mental health and substance abuse crisis intervention, stabilization and assessment for Franklin County, Ohio residents. Licensed and experienced clinicians will direct the caller to the most appropriate means of assistance. Services are available to anyone, regardless of the ability to pay.
